GMAT Verbal Preparation Books and Material

In this era of globalization, most of the business communication happens in English only, no matter what your official language is. Verbal test in GMAT is a section in which your proficiency in Standard English language is tested and checks your ability to evaluate the given arguments with the right reasoning skills. • It has the best strategies for all the 3 sections of the verbal test, which are sentence correction, reading comprehension and critical reasoning.
• The book is in a condensed form which covers all the sections of verbal test and is well organized.

Cons:

• There are less practice questions on sentence correction and critical reasoning.
• The reading comprehension questions are very less and not enough for practice.

Kaplan GMAT Verbal Workbook

This book is good if you are aiming for a score of 650-700. The reviews of all the sections of verbal test are good.

Pros:

• Sensible strategies for every section of verbal test.
• The idioms and vocabulary list is very beneficial.

Cons:

• Few questions given are very tough to answer.
• The questions do not exactly represent the real valid GMAT test format.

The PowerScore GMAT Critical Reasoning Bible

This book is considered as the best choice to build proficiency in critical reasoning questions. 

Pros:

• There is a specific strategy mentioned for each category of critical reasoning questions which is commendable.
• This book is well structured so it makes the learning process quick and easy.

Cons:

• Even though the practice questions available are more compared to other question banks, it can be made better.

Manhattan GMAT Sentence Correction

This book is recommended as the best for sentence correction.

Pros:

• It covers the grammar concepts thoroughly.
• The book is designed conveniently which is very useful.

Cons:

• Practice questions are not provided.

Manhattan GMAT Reading Comprehension

This book is completely dedicated to the reading comprehension section and it has 69 questions in it.

Pros:

• It has more passages and questions of reading comprehension compared to the other Manhattan books.

Cons:

• It has fewer questions for practice to prove a significant score.

The best part about the GMAT quantitative test is that you don’t have to remember formulae to solve problems. But practice is necessary. Quantitative problems should be practiced with proper study materials which highlight the test pattern in real GMAT. So if you get right preparation books and guides scoring well becomes a cake walk.
